Masanobu Nishino |
|
Masanobu Nishino works in various media including sculpture, painting, photography and video. His work suggests an alternative view point to observe everyday life, by revealing small oddities found in banal scenes. Among the variety of media that he employs, video especially seems to most frankly present the artist's own attention to things around, such as dust swinging on a friend's shoulder, an ice pushed out from a hose left on the street, and clear view through a chopped wood. Through simple editing, Nishino creates a right degree of tension and humor to these insignificant moments and turns them into extraordinary moments. Nishino was born in Ohita in 1982 and took a master's degree from Department of Inter Media Art, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts & Music. His past exhibitions include a solo show "Doubt" at Yuka Sasahara Gallery (2006), Tokyo and a group exhibition "Idol!" at Yokohama Museum of Art, Yokohama (2006).
